A Wonderful Family

I had so much fun with this family today. Their daughter was such a cutie pie. It took her a little while to warm up to me. Once I told her Elmo was in my camera she was all mine. She had all of us convinced that Elmo was hiding with a crocodile inside the Mission Inn. So much fun. Here are a few of my favorites.

Toms Farm

I had a blast taking pictures of my boys and my niece at Toms Farm today. The train was down so I was able to get these priceless shots. The kissing booth was done in my backyard.

Bubbles!!!

I had so much fun with the bubbles shot. It was a great way to get my little guy smiling. If anybody is interested, I will bring this bubble machine along. It was definitely a hit with the kids at the park.

Meet Madison and Logan

I had a blast trying to get these shots of Madison and Logan. Madison is 10 months old and on the move. She wanted nothing to do with me or my camera. She was all about crawling. Logan is a typical boy. He didn't want to pose for me either. But I did manage to get a few good shots of Maddie. Here are my favorites.

An "AHA" Moment

I have decided to take my 365 project and create a separate blog for my boys. I don't want to confuse the two. If you want to keep up with my boys check out http://danielleodom365.blogspot.com . I am very excited about pursuing my passion for photography. This weekend is busy. I am taking a photography class and I have 2 photo shoots with 2 awesome families. I cannot wait. I will be posting pictures to this blog, as well as to my Facebook page.
This weekend I will also be trying to get my kissing booth shot just right. It is an idea I saw on Barefoot Photography's site, of course with a few touches of my own, like the Hershey's kisses.  I tried it out tonight but wasn't super excited about it. Here is a little preview though.

Mr. Grumpy and Mr. Happy

Day 12....You can't always have a happy baby or toddler. Tonight it was a mixed bag. I was one and one. Hunter was just having a complete meltdown, which he hardly ever haves. But I decided to grab my camera and snap the picture. It breaks my heart to see him cry. He really wanted the Imagination Movers.

And then there is Landon. He was all smiles tonight. I just want to pinch those cheeks. I truly am blessed to have such wonderful boys, including my husband.

Time Crunch

Day 11...

There was a little bit of a time crunch tonight since we went to dinner with a friend at the last minute. Whenever Tony gives Hunter a bath getting him dressed is always a challenge. Hunter likes to get up and run around saying "naked baby." Sometimes he will hide in one of the empty cabinets in our kitchen. Tonight, Hunter wanted to wear his rain boots and pretend to play the guitar on his broom.

And this little guy is fighting going to sleep. Hopefully, he will go down after one more bottle.
I also managed to finish making the kissing booth that I saw on Barefoot Photography's Facebook page. I cannot wait to use it. Tweaking and/or modifying things is what I do best. Hopefully, everything will come together as I envisioned it. 2 photo shoots this weekend = 1 excited ME! I am so honored to capture a moment for them.

My sidekick in training!

Day 10....I absolutely love this project. I am having a blast taking pictures of my kiddos everyday. Today, Hunter came up to me and said "Mama I take your picture. Say Cheese." Priceless. So, I grabbed my camera and took a picture of him taking a picture of me. It was hilarious. He then showed me his screen and then I showed him mine. He said "Ahhh...that's Hunter!" He cracks me up. Does it really matter that you can't see his face????

And as far as Landon is concerned, I think he is thinking "another picture." Get used to it kid. They will thank me years from now. What is not to love about this little face. He has such a great personality like his brother. I am not sure how I got so LUCKY. I was blessed with a wonderful, supportive husband and 2 wonderful boys. They both are/were good babies. KNOCK ON WOOD!!!

DAY 9...

This weekend was great. I actually took a little time to get an outside shot with Hunter. I got him all cowboyed up and put him in the grass. He was so funny. He just sat there strumming his guitar. Watch out Tim McGraw. It was too cold to take Landon outside so we had to settle for another inside shot. I already have some other ideas for Hunter and Landon. Let's see how this week goes.

Updates...

I am so excited. Tomorrow, I am going to do a photo shoot with a wonderful family. I am so looking forward to it. I will definitely post pictures. Also, check out my Facebook page, I am constantly adding moments that I have captured. It is just a matter of going through all the pictures I have taken over the years. I have a lot of my boys and my niece. I enjoy taking pictures of the little ones. There is nothing better than their tiny faces smiling up at you. Please check them out.

DAY 8

Unfortunately, Southern California is COLD!!! This means that I am not about to take my little guys outside. No way! Random inside shots of them again it is. As soon as it warms up I plan on taking full advantage of my camera and getting the heck outdoors. Maybe tomorrow it will be a tad warmer. I am hopeful.

Love this little guy.

Hunter thinks that his toy broom is his guitar. The funny thing is that he actually has a guitar.

51 more to go!

Well, I made it through one week of my 365 day photography project of my boys. Tonight was a little more difficult. I am exhausted. This week at work has been rough. In case you don't already know I am a sixth grade teacher. Enough said, right? I truly love my job this year is just more challenging than previous years. Photography allows me to escape from my reality and into a happy place. In a way it brings me peace, especially since I am capturing moments of my precious boys and family/friends.
Chillin' in the swing.

I struggled with Hunter tonight. He was too busy watching the Imagination Movers.
This weekend should be fun. I am going to actually take the boys outside for pictures to practice with my camera. On Sunday, I am actually going to do a family photo shoot also. Super excited.

Day 6

This is definitely a challenging project. But I am sticking to it if for nothing more than to truly practice with my camera. And not to mention see how much my little guys change over the course of a year. I just really wish this California weather would warm up to at least a comfortable 75 degrees, at least we could go outside and I could possibly get some outdoor pictures. It is just difficult with a 4.5 month old and a 2 year old. I definitely don't want them getting sick. So indoors it is still. Maybe this weekend I will be able to go somewhere.

Every night we put some change in his Buzz bank.

PEACEFUL!!!!

Everyday I learn something new about my camera. I truly believe that photography is my passion. Along with exercising, it is the one thing (well one of the things) I do for me. I love being a teacher, a mother, and a wife. However, I never take time for me that often. I am not a party girl or shopper, but I love taking pictures and scrapbooking. I love capturing moments. Let me capture a moment for you. It would be my pleasure. Please contact me if you are interested in a session.

Bathtime Frenzy!

Day 5....Bathtime was the location of today's pictures. I wasn't sure how today was going to go since I am on my own tonight as far as getting kids ready for bed. That means two kids...two baths. They are not at the age where they can be bathed together so that wasn't an option. They both enjoy taking a bath so that guaranteed me a smile or at least not crying, not that my kids cry that much.

Landon is just relaxing in his nice, warm bath.

Landon all wrapped up in his towel.

Hunter loves to do the scrunch face when he says cheese.

Hunter all wrapped up in his towel that Kelly made for him.

I have also come to a decision regarding this project. I think that day to day, I am just going to try and capture one image of each of my boys. Monday through Friday is chaotic to try and get a really super-great shot or to go somewhere. I think I will save my special shots for the weekend or try to do them once a month. I will definitely have to play it by ear. I just hope that the weather would take it easy...enough with the rain...and if it could just warm up a tad that would be FANTASTIC!!!

Still going strong...

Day 4 has been successfully completed. This is going to be really challenging. I don't really want to get the same exact picture everyday. I guess this is what is going to force me to think outside the box. It is also going to force me to adjust to my camera. Today was tough in that I couldn't decide which picture to use. Therefore, I am going to post two pictures for each of my little guys today.

Landon loves to suck on his thumb. Once he hit 3 months, he didn't really care for the pacifier.

I just love his little smile.

Hunter loves wearing hats.

And....brushing his teeth. Shocker!!!

Come back tomorrow to see what I come up with! If you have any ideas please let me know.

Day 3...

Well so far so good. I'm 3 days in and having a blast. I am trying to get creative on capturing my two boys for this 365 project. I have also decided to turn them into a photo book at the end of this whole process. Has anyone else heard about this couple who took a picture everyday of their 14 year old in the same position? Talk about ambitious! That is a 5,110 day project. My husband thinks that it is kind of creepy yet kind of cool. Today, I am using the pictures I used to post on 'Ella B Photography's group focusing on purple.

Landon is teething up a storm and he absolutely loves this purple seahorse.

Hunter has a sour look on his face as he sips his orange juice.

And so it begins....

To start the new year I am going to try and start things strong by fulfilling one of my passions...photography. I have decided to start a 365 project of my two wonderful boys, Hunter who is 2 and Landon who is 4 months. Only time will tell how this will all work out. I am hoping it will give me insight into my camera. Hopefully, I won't forget.

Day 1/365

My day 1 picture for Hunter is of him enjoying his first giant Disneyland sucker.

My poor little guy is teething. Can't you see the droll coming down both sides ?

Day 2/365

Who doesn't love a naked baby?

Or a sleeping baby?

Well, I guess we will have to see what tomorrow brings. I am open for suggestions.
